Nordic Stage - Canadian tackles Siberia tested

Nordic Stage made its debut at Tackle Trade World Fair in Amsterdam in 2008. The Russian backed Canadian-based spinning rod distributing company maybe new to the global market - but it's steeped in Russian history.

It all started in the mid-1990s in Moscow, Russia.

While most of the Russian people were adapting to 'Glasnost' and 'Perestroika' - freedoms offered by the softened communist regime, a group of fishing enthusiasts was preoccupied with the idea to introduce top class fishing tackle to its Russian comrades. The newly formed 'wind of change' had made it possible to deliver the goods to the country by private initiative. The business started with the initiative of Armon Ikramov - and from the very beginning the concept was to get the best product, to offer the best services and to train the best experts on the market.

The idea behind the company was to introduce Russian anglers to the products of Daiwa Seiko Inc., Japan - with the products positioned in the market as the best available tackle.

Of course at that time some of the products introduced had prices that were ten times higher than the average monthly wage in Moscow. In order to sell, there was a need to explain a lot about modern tackle and the nuances of its performance. The guys often felt as though they were missionaries, delivering the fruits of civilization to locals and overcoming all the thorns and obstacles related to this mission.

After years of continuous education, culturing anglers and offering the best quality tackle to the Russian market, the company helped to develop a new series of spinning rods designed precisely for Russian anglers and developed mutually with Daiwa's Japanese engineers.

The new rods came to be a huge success in Russia, and as a result of this experience company's engineers were prepared to continue product development all alone under the NorStream^TM branded line of products. The success of those products in Russia was outranges, but the secret behind it was very simple.

Kirill Gushchin, chief rod developer says:
"I just clearly know in what way, for what fish and under which fishing conditions the new rod might be applied the best. After, it is just the feeling of proportions, knowledge of materials and skilled personal we only entrust to assemble the rods for us. The materials used for construction of blanks of our top of the range rods are high modulus and super high modulus sophisticated graphite composition of 30 to 56 ton carbon allocated together under our 'UTC' technology, which allows the maximum bonding of graphite layers. The main concepts of our rod construction is combining of such rod characteristics as butt stiffness and power with elasticity and stiffness in the middle part and finally with the sensitivity in the tip. These characteristics permit an angler to control the fish with ease, make long casts and retain sensitivity."

It was natural for the company producing the top quality products to sponsor the top Russian sportsmen.

Visiting different international fishing competitions and championships those sportsmen demonstrated the superior high performance of the Russian NorStream rods. Those demonstrations had provoked an interest to the Russian developed products from some European companies and lead the company to the conclusion that it is high time to show its rods to the entire world - hence establish a North American sales outlet in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to set up the global logistics and promotion for high quality products developed.
